The present hospital interiors need to be carefully redesigned so as to combine the most sophisticated medical technology with the need for a comfortable and pleasant environment for patients. During the first phase of the project, the dialysis treatment area, laboratory and labor unit areas will need to be reworked due to their immediate requirements. In order to provide optimal healing conditions, the interior of the facility is primarily intended to improve the hospital experience and to provide mental comfort.

The labor unit is designed to create calm, soothing atmosphere that will make you feel comfortable and safe during the delivery process. A floating display of nature in the ceiling is illuminated from within. This gives a sense of confidence to the patient and prevents her from losing consciousness during the course of pregnancy. The desired ambience was achieved through a back feature wall with marble inlays, furnishings, and a nature display wall that was placed against the patient’s bed. In general, the design speaks a simple language which appeals to the patient's senses.

A high-resistance vinyl flooring option has been selected for the dialysis treatment area, with a pale foliage green color setting the color palette in the treatment area. The partitions surrounding the bed area with floral motives on the back of the bed provide privacy and openness. An elegant nurse station with marble-surfaced workstations and contrasting backdrops adds warmth to the area. Additionally, the labs were kept uncluttered in order to emphasize their purpose. Hospital service requirements and standard guidelines play a significant role and have been fully addressed.
